Country music recording star Michael Peterson champions American Legion Auxiliary Foundation

INDIANAPOLIS—Michael Peterson, popular country singer and songwriter, recently released a public service announcement supporting the American Legion Auxiliary and its national foundation.

In the PSA, recorded in the Sound Kitchen Studio in Franklin, Tenn. Peterson asks others to join him in supporting the world’s largest women’s patriotic service organization. Peterson knows that scholarships for children of wartime veterans, as well as comfort and care for their families, continue to be a big need in our country. He encourages Americans to support the American Legion Auxiliary Foundation.

The PSA will be sent to television stations around the country in an effort to increase awareness of the ALA Foundation and gain additional support for America’s heroes—our current military and veterans who served our country. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit public benefit corporation, the ALA Foundation provides a way for individuals and corporations to support the American Legion Auxiliary’s charitable and educational outreach programs through endowed gifts, grants and scholarships. It is a way of continuing the Auxiliary’s legacy of Service Not Self and enhancing the quality of life for future generations of veterans, our military and their families.

Founded in 1919, the American Legion Auxiliary is the world’s largest patriotic women’s service organization. With a membership of nearly 850,000, local ALA units have a strong presence in more than 9,500 communities nationwide. The ALA’s mission to serve veterans, their families and their communities is carried out through its hundreds of outreach programs delivered by its members, volunteers and National Headquarters.
