Historian
We believe that reflecting on where we have been and how far we have come is crucial in charting our course for the future. For the past 90 years, the women of the American Legion Auxiliary have been diligent in recording the history of our organization. Historians at the unit, state, and national levels recount our activities and accomplishments. And every decade, we publish a book that chronicles the Auxiliary’s record of service "for God and country." Our historians also help preserve the history of our country by participating in the national Veterans History Project, sharing the stories of their local veterans.


Veterans History Project
In an effort to preserve the personal accounts of American war veterans, we encourage our local units to support the Veterans History Project. Capturing the stories will ensure that future generations of Americans are afforded a firsthand look at the realities of war. May we always remember the sacrifices made to secure our freedom. 90th Anniversary

Cavalcade of Memories
