Honoring Their Service Button
The 2011-2012 American Legion Auxiliary National Membership team is excited to present the theme for the administrative year: Honoring Their Service. In support of this concept, the Membership team is creating custom buttons for Auxiliary members with a photo of a special veteran in their life. It can be any photo—a military photo, a candid current shot or a favorite image in any environment.

We hope you’ll help us spread the wonderful work of our organization while using our special veteran connection to engage new members.  Download Order Form (pdf)

Strategic Planning

This look ahead three and five years out helps us set our priorities and establish action steps. We then communicate these to our key stakeholders (units, departments, board, and leadership teams) and monitor progress made in meeting our goals. The hard work of planning is well worth the time and effort because it means we will be able to serve more veterans. Learn More...

Member Support Committees

Much of the planning that enables our members to more effectively serve veterans in their local communities is done through our national committees. These committees keep their focus on one specific area and share their collective expertise with units and departments so that members at the grassroots level do not have to reinvent the wheel. When one unit achieves success with a project or program, that success is shared and multiplied nationwide. Learn More...

Auxiliary Emergency Fund

When a sudden financial crisis befalls an eligible Auxiliary member, the Auxiliary Emergency Fund may be able to provide temporary emergency assistance when no other source of help is available. The AEF, on occasion, could be a helping hand for a struggling member in need of food, shelter, or utilities for her family when a natural disaster or other calamity strikes. Learn More

ALA Pods
Pods are simply groupings of ALA programs. The operative word: simplify! Grouping programs makes it simpler to carry out the programs for enhanced mission delivery. The Auxiliary’s 26 national programs and national committees are grouped into two general categories: Mission Outreach and Member/Organizational Support.

To simplify how we “do” our programs, the pods provide an alternative to units that do not feel that they have the resources to carry out every program. Learn More
