Active Duty Servicewomen of the Year
More women now actively serve in the armed forces, defending our country and our freedom, than at any time in history. The American Legion Auxiliary applauds the remarkable sacrifice these women make; they are the true embodiment of “service not self.” To show our support for the women in the armed forces, the American Legion Auxiliary, during our national convention, annually presents an Active Duty Servicewoman of the Year Award to one woman nominated from each branch of the military. Their inspiring stories remind us that courage and commitment to our country knows no gender.
