Application Window Opens: November 1, 2018 Application Window Closes: January 1, 2019 Mission Statement:In the spirit of Service, Not Self, the mission of the American Legion Auxiliary is to support The American Legion and to honor the sacrifice of those who serve by enhancing the lives of our veterans, military, and their families, both at home and abroad. For God and Country, we advocate for veterans, educate our citizens, mentor youth, and promote patriotism, good citizenship, peace and security. Vision Statement:The vision of the American Legion Auxiliary is to support The American Legion while becoming the premier service organization and foundation of every community providing support for our veterans, our military, and their families by shaping a positive future in an atmosphere of fellowship, patriotism, peace and security. General Expectations: Support the mission, purposes, and programs of the American Legion Auxiliary Complete the term of the committee appointment(1 to 3 years depending on committee)Serve actively on the committee as requested by the National President and National ChairmanAttend meetings/events and complete national assignments Communication: Prepare informative bulletins and other communication in a timely manner.Avoid conflict by serving the organization as a whole rather than any special interest group.Avoid the appearance of conflict of interest that might embarrass the organization and disclose any possible conflicts in a timely fashion. Fundraising: Assist the ALA by implementing fund raising strategies through personal influence with others.Actively participate in fundraising and special program events as assigned.Make an annual personal gift to the ALA that is significant according to your personal means. PLEASE NOTE: Some roles have additional requirements in terms of time commitments andphysical demands beyond traditional committee expectations.

Extensive walking Working long hours Staying up late into the night Keeping pace with ALA Girls Nation citizens, Junior members, National Creative Arts Festival participants
