Tributes – Memorials – Gifts In Lieu of Flowers

Donating in lieu of flowers celebrates a loved one’s life by supporting the outreach of the American Legion Auxiliary’s mission and patriotic values.

When you make a donation in lieu of flowers to the American Legion Auxiliary or American Legion Auxiliary Foundation, the person or family you are honoring will receive an acknowledgment from National Headquarters informing them of your gift without disclosing the amount. American Legion Auxiliary Foundation

    Securing the ALA’s Future
As more young veterans join the ranks of America’s war heroes the American Legion Auxiliary is needed more than ever. The American Legion Auxiliary Foundation, a 501(c)(3) public charity, provides a way to secure our legacy and heritage of Service Not Self, ultimately enhancing the quality of life for future generations of veterans, our military and their families. As an endowed fund, the monies will be permanently restricted so that future generations may benefit from ALA programs that support all of our veterans and promote education, good citizenship and outreach to veterans facing tough challenges. Your donation today will help ensure we’re here to help veterans tomorrow.

    Auxiliary Emergency Fund

    Women Helping Women in Crisis
No matter how thoroughly we prepare, we all encounter hard times. In some cases, the challenge is too difficult to overcome alone. The AEF could be a helping hand for a struggling Auxiliary member in need of food, shelter or utilities for her family after a natural disaster or during time of financial crisis. Established in 1969, the Fund is a safety net for those in desperate need. When you give to the Auxiliary Emergency Fund, you’re giving a fellow ALA member not just help, but hope.

Children of Warriors National Presidents' Scholarship

    Helping Youth
It is important to acknowledge the sacrifices of servicemembers who preserve our freedom, but that is not enough. The sacrifices of the children of those who served should also be honored. The Children of Warriors National Presidents’ Scholarship provides them with that recognition in the form of financial support for higher education. Every year, 15 outstanding students from around the United States are awarded thousands of dollars in scholarship money. When you give to the National Presidents’ Scholarship, it is our way of showing how much we, as a nation, care.

    Spirit of Youth Scholarship

    Investing in our Future
The future of our country depends on our young people. The Spirit of Youth program recognizes this basic truth by rewarding our exceptional young members who have a keen sense of patriotism and respect for the American Legion Auxiliary’s guiding principle. Each year, the program supports the educational advancement of Junior Auxiliary members through college scholarships. Think of your investment in the Spirit of Youth as an investment in the future because the education received by these young members will help them serve the ALA and their country for years to come.

    National Veterans Creative Arts Festival

    Helping Heal the Wounded
The arts can be powerful medicine, and the ALA recognizes that. More than a decade ago, the American Legion Auxiliary became a co-sponsor of the National Veterans Creative Arts Festival, an amazing event that assists veterans in healing from both their physical and psychological wounds through visual and performing arts. NVCAF annually showcases the artistic achievements of veterans being treated at VA facilities across the country. With your gift, the show can go on!
